Public Access Defibrillator for St Marks Community Centre

Following a generous donation from the Widcombe Association,
the trustees of St Marks Community Centre have been able to purchase a fully automatic Zoll AED Plus Public Access Defibrillator. It is situated at the far end of St Marks Road on the community centre wall adjacent to Acorns Pre-school entrance. The defibrillator is available for emergency use 24/7. To access the device dial 999 and request an access code.

A spokesperson from Southwest Ambulance Service said “If
there were more public access defibrillators, more people could get a life-saving shock as quickly as possible ahead of the ambulance arrival, which would assist in giving them the best possible chance of survival”.

Defibrillators are easy and safe to use by anyone with little or no training. The device talks and displays what you need to do.

Throughout the autumn and winter the trustees will be offering training on the use of the defibrillator and CPR using the Call Push Recue Kit.  In the meantime training videos are available below.
